Happy May Beautiful People!
Spring caught me off guard so I’m going to do a quick recap for you of April. At the end of last month I made an impromptu appearance at the newly renovated Velvet Lounge in downtown Detroit. It went pretty well. It went so good that I will be back on a more consistent basis…with a new hair cut and all…LOL! I also made an impromptu song sketch to express my feelings towards the incident with Trayvon Martin and so many other Young Black Men that have lost their lives in senseless shootings. The video link is below:
“Please Don’t Shoot My Brother”
Lastly, as of April I’m officially back in the studio recording and it feels great! I’m a few songs into my new project with a lot more to go. The older I get the more interesting the process becomes. I promised that in 2012 I would be rocking as many stages that would have me. It’s coming to fruition. You will see me in a number of different capacities this year. I’m back performing with Jazz Artist, Shebly Brown this spring and summer as well as trying my hand at “Rock-Soul” with a new band called the Innocent Bystanders, and of course I’m rocking stages on my own affiliated with anything SoulMusic inspired & driven. Here are some of my up coming dates below:
The Ritz w/ Innocent Bystanders, Thursday , May 10th, 9-11pm (24300 Hoover, Warren, MI)
Firewater w/Shelby Brown, Friday May 11th, 6-9pm (6521 John R Street, Detroit, MI)
U Detroit w/ Innocent Bystanders, Friday, June 1st, 10-12am (1427 Randolph Street, Detroit, MI)
Also stay tuned for June! I will have a free musical download available just for the beginning of summer and in thanks of your continued support!
